Wentworth Company is in the process of being delisted from the New York Stock Exchange, sparking rumors that its mortgage subsidiary – a $1.5 billion-a-year originator – might find itself on the auction block. Verizon Wireless is preparing to package the payment plans on more than 3.09 million cell phones into an ABS, marking the first time an ABS in the U.S. will be backed by such collateral.
