ResCap Agrees to Settlement Deal with Parent Ally, Creditors; Judge Dismisses FCA Claims Against BofA

Exactly one year after it filed for bankruptcy, Residential Capital announced this week it has entered into a “comprehensive plan support agreement” with its parent, Ally Financial, and ResCap’s creditors, who say they are owed some $25 billion in mortgage liabilities. Deephaven Mortgage, a new subprime lender headed by a former Goldman Sachs official, is seeking warehouse lines of credit, according to one banker. The banker, requesting anonymity, said his institution was approached by the North Carolina-based Deephaven in the past few weeks but decided to pass on the credit.
