Could investors sink their money into the GSEs only to have Congress convert them into public utilities and closely supervise their g-fees?

The high court decision could impact how other independent federal agencies — such as the Federal Housing Finance Agency — operate.

In its annual report to Congress, the FHFA recommended legislation that will allow it “to examine the records, operations and facilities” of all Fannie/Freddie servicers.
