House GOP Regroups to Kill National Housing Trust Fund
July 8, 2002
Opponents of an amendment to divert “excess” FHA and Ginnie Mae funds to affordable housing programs will have another shot at stripping it from the omnibus housing bill at a future markup in the House Financial Services Committee. The committee adjourned late last month without taking further action on the amendment. Opponents are expected to make another try when the panel reconvenes to continue markup of H.R. 3995, the Housing Affordability for America Act.
