Plaintiffs Allege ‘Shell Game’ in New Wave of Class Action

Defense lawyers are warning mortgage lenders against a new wave of usury class action lawsuits involving high-cost home loans. At least 10 predatory lending cases against mortgage lenders are pending in state courts in Pennsylvania and Washington, all claiming violation of state usury and licensing laws. They follow similar lawsuits that have been filed in Illinois, Michigan and Missouri.
