Countrywide Financial became the top wholesale lender to mortgage brokers last year after finishing fourth in the sector back in 2002. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO fell from the top wholesale-to-broker ranking in 2002 down to fourth place last year, according to sister publication Inside Mortgage Finance.
