In 1999, GMAC Mortgage Corp. rolled out a corporate-wide quality initiative focused on improving customer services, risk mitigation and expense management. Monica Estates, director of GMAC’s Treasury Services Division, which handles the corporation’s expenses, billing and payment receivables, realized that improving the procedures for transaction processing and information management between GMAC and its banking partners would streamline operations and save money.
