Countrywide is beefing up the international business consulting component of its ambitious plans to play a bigger role in overseas mortgage markets. The mortgage-banking giant, which made its first international foray in 1999 through a joint venture with a U.K. lender, recently launched Countrywide International Consulting Services, or CICS. Its web site, www.countrywideinternational.com, provides information on its consulting services as well as research the unit has done.
