U.S. Senate Overtime pay. The U.S. Senate approved two measures to block new overtime pay regulations issued by the Department of Labor on May 4. The measures were part of a must-pass trade bill that is the focus of a fierce partisan battle. Dubbed the “FairPay” rule, the DOL regulations clarify the “white collar” exemptions for employees from overtime pay benefits under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Among other things, they set clear
