The Financial Services Roundtable last week strongly denied reports that it offered the Bush administration an alternative mortgage-packaging proposal to win back the banking industry’s support for a controversial RESPA reform rule. The report surfaced after FSR officials met with representatives from the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy on Jan. 21 to discuss the final RESPA rule currently under review
