Mortgage brokers and loan officers seeking to do business in Texas will be required to submit criminal background information and their fingerprints, along with their license application, under state law enacted late last month. Republican Gov. Rick Perry signed SB 1667 into law on May 28 and it will take effect on Sept. 1 of this year.
