Violations of flood insurance regulations are on the rise, particularly among financial institutions in the Midwest. Lax enforcement of compliance policies appears to be the cause of the tremendous increase in violations that have been reported in the Chicago area and across the nation, said Ron Regal, a review examiner with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.’s Chicago office.
