The City Council of Cincinnati has proposed an emergency measure aimed at mortgage brokers and predatory lending within city limits. Under the Sept. 6 proposal, mortgage brokers doing business within city jurisdiction would be required to "act in the consumer’s best interest" and disclose their fees in a written contract with the consumer.
