New federal insurance sales practices regulations taking effect soon could affect private mortgage insurance and mortgage credit life insurance, depending on the circumstances of the transaction, federal regulators told two industry trade groups. The issues regarding private MI and credit life insurance were among a set of questions raised by the American Bankers Association and the American Bankers Insurance Association with federal thrift and banking regulators.
