The Office of Thrift Supervision will no longer collect Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data effective with 2001 HMDA reports. That responsibility has been shifted to the Federal Reserve Board. Under an agreement between the two federal agencies, the Fed will oversee federally chartered thrifts and savings banks’ compliance with HMDA collection requirements.
