The House Financial Services Committee is considering a legislative package aimed at curbing various predatory lending abuses. One of the 11 bills unveiled by Democrats led by ranking committee member John LaFalce of New York last week would achieve what the Federal Reserve Board has been trying to do by regulation: Expand loan level reporting under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
