The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight this week unveiled a proposed disclosure regulation for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that effectively mirrors Securities and Exchange Commission requirements. Last July, Fannie and Freddie agreed to voluntarily register their common stock with the SEC under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. That agreement calls for the two GSEs to start filing SEC-mandated disclosures such as 10-Ks and 10-Qs beginning this year.
