Lenders are banking that a strategy centered on financial literacy can lead them out of the morass of predatory lending. But, at least one trade group isn’t putting all of its eggs into the basket of what many say is a long-term solution. Instead, the American Financial Services Association has taken the wraps off of a new brochure designed to help borrowers determine how much mortgage they can afford.
