The number of community banks using automated underwriting systems increased in 2005, according to a recent study by America’s Community Bankers. The banks increased their online presence last year as well. The ACB survey, conducted in the fourth quarter, includes 239 community banks, the vast majority of which have under $1 billion in assets.
