Federal regulators this week approved the biggest ever annual adjustment in the so-called conforming loan limit, a hefty 16.0 percent jump that pushes the maximum loan amount for typical Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac purchases to $417,000. The $57,350 boost from the current Fannie/Freddie limit of $359,650 is, by far, the biggest annual gain in terms of both size and percentage increase.
