A spate of offers by third-party settlement service providers to form affiliated business arrangements has prompted the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to caution national banks about entering into such business relationships. In an Aug. 4 bulletin, Ann Jaedicke, deputy comptroller for compliance policy, noted that certain unidentified national banks have been approached by third parties with offers to form an “affiliated business arrangement,” or ABA, to provide real estate settlement services.…
