Mortgage bankers will visit Capitol Hill this week to seek support for key industry issues, including government-sponsored enterprise reform, uniform national anti-predatory lending standards, liberalized REMIC tax rules, a stronger and improved FHA program, and extension of terrorism risk insurance legislation. Industry lobbying will cap a two-day conference hosted by the Mortgage Bankers Association in Washington, DC, in which major policy issues will be discussed preparatory to members’ visit to Congress.
