Federal bank and thrift regulators have decided not to go forward with a plan to collect information on subprime lending from insured depository institutions. The regulatory plan was announced last July, when the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, citing safety and soundness concerns, issued a proposal that would add information on loans generated through “subprime programs” to bank and thrift quarterly reports.
