Lenders are confident that the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s new 2001 policy statement on broker fee compensation can withstand any legal challenge in any forum, including a hearing that the chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee reportedly plans to hold before the end of the year.
