John Weicher, the former head of HUD’s Office of Policy Development and Research under Jack Kemp in the early 1990s, reportedly has been tapped to be the next FHA Commissioner. Although there had been no official word on Weicher’s nomination as we went to press this week, sources reported that the former HUD official had been chosen by the Bush administration to take over the key FHA position.
