Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act reforms may get a hearing soon on Capitol Hill in light of the recent controversy over third-party fee markups. In remarks at the National Association of Mortgage Brokers’ legislative meeting on April 19, Chairman Michael Oxley of the House Financial Services Committee announced his intention to hold a hearing soon on RESPA issues. He did not specify a date, however.
