Freddie Mac has developed software to help lenders detect fraudulent property appraisals. The detection tool, Home Value Calibrator, will be available to lenders in the second quarter. It is designed specifically to dig out predatory loans. The Calibrator analyzes home price data and generates both a risk score and a report that lenders can use to flag suspicious valuations.
