The mortgage industry and consumer advocates appear to be equally matched in the anti-predatory lending war on the state and municipal levels, judging by their legislative scorecards. So far, the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and its state affiliates have succeeded in stopping anti-predatory lending measures in five states and are lobbying intensely in 11 others.
