House Financial Services Committee Chairman Michael Oxley, R-OH, late last week announced subcommittee chairmen and their new jurisdictions. There was little surprise in Oxley’s choices, among them Rep. Marge Roukema, R-NJ, who will now chair the Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity. Roukema had expressed interest in the full committee chair but was passed over by party elders for Oxley, former chairman of the House Commerce Subcommittee on Finance and Hazardous materials.
