Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ended the second quarter with more of a whimper than a bang when it came to mortgage-backed security production. Nevertheless, the two government-sponsored enterprises did manage a rally of sorts when it came to MBS purchases, which hit an eight month high as the first half came to a close.
