Rep. Richard Baker, R-LA, chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance, and Government-Sponsored Enterprises, has called on Treasury Department officials to testify at a subcommittee hearing next month about their views on enhancing transparency and strengthening regulatory oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
