Freddie Mac is starting to sound a lot like Fannie Mae these days, as officials for the smaller GSE continue to emphasize their commitment to affordable housing. But so far there is only talk of new business plans to actually accomplish this goal, and Freddie officials are still talking down a proposal by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to increase the GSE ’s purchase of affordable housing loans.
