Although Freddie Mac says it hasn’t yet formulated a position on the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s recent proposal to hike the GSE’s affordable housing goals beginning next year, there are strong indications Freddie will oppose at least some of the changes. And the GSE already appears to have the support of the Mortgage Bankers Association in questioning the tougher goals.
