Freddie Mac’s head lobbyist, who reportedly is being forced to step down amidst allegations of improper political fundraising, will need to be replaced by someone with strong ties to the Republican party, political observers say. The expected departure of Mitch Delk, Freddie’s SVP for government relations for the past five years and a lobbyist with the company since 1991, will leave a big hole in the GSE’s political lobbying operation.
