Two of the biggest issues the Federal Housing Finance Board is likely to grapple with over the next year or so already are attracting some negative attention on Capitol Hill. Specifically, some lawmakers have started questioning the Finance Board’s authority to allow multi-district membership within the Federal Home Loan Bank System as well as any separate agency action that would allow the FHLBanks to issue mortgage-backed securities.
