Are the Federal Home Loan Banks a better form of government-sponsored enterprise than Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? They are less objectionable from a public policy standpoint, according to American Enterprise Institute fellow and major league GSE critic Peter Wallison, who contends the FHLBanks pass on more of their government subsidy than either Fannie or Freddie do.
