The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight moved one small step closer to gaining independence from the federal appropriations process with the introduction of a bipartisan bill in the House. The measure, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Funding Reform Act of 2002, was sponsored by Democrats Ken Bentsen of Texas, Paul Kanjorksi of Pennsylvania and Caroline Maloney of New York.
