House Democrats have upped the ante in the predatory lending debate with a bill that would hold lenders responsible for the sins of the mortgage brokers they do business with and bar bad loans from securitization pools. Introduced by Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-IL, with more than 30 co-sponsors, H.R. 3322 appears to be the Democratic answer to H.R. 833, an industry-backed bill, sponsored by Rep. Bob Ney,
