The Federal Reserve Board’s efforts to gather more information on subprime lending practices through Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reports have apparently satisfied no one completely. “The good news is the Fed took the balancing of burden and benefit seriously,” said Steve Zeisel, senior counsel with the Consumer Bankers Association. “The bad news is that the proposal would still be costly to implement and too burdensome.
