In an effort to provide mortgage security investors with an easy way to track Wall Street expectations of MBS prepayment speeds, the Bond Market Association this week unveiled a new report that will provide dealer consensus projections on prepayments on a biweekly basis. “Estimating prepayment rates is the starting point of MBS analysis,” said Nadine Cancell, vice president and assistant general counsel at the BMA.
