Major subprime securitizers sold a smaller portion of their MBS production to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during the first part of the 2006, according to a new analysis by the Inside Mortgage Finance MBS Database. The analysis looked at issuance of so-called GSE classes, or specially structured MBS classes of loans below the conforming loan limit for sale to the GSEs.
