Providers of affordable housing loans and community groups are urging Congress to drop a provision from the 1999 Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requiring public disclosure of Community Reinvestment Act agreements between consumer groups and banks. The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and the Opportunity Finance Network separately called for the repeal of Section 711, referred to as the CRA “sunshine” provision, of the GLBA.
