The mortgage banking industry has asked the Securities and Exchange Commission for a change of date for reporting on servicing compliance under the new servicing criteria in the agency’s massive – and controversial – Regulation AB. The Mortgage Bankers Association requested the change in a March 13 letter, explaining that planning and execution of performance reporting under Regulation AB’s Item 1122, “Compliance with Applicable Servicing Criteria,” have caused delays for legitimate reasons.
