Banks’ mortgage-related activities and other lending, investments, and services in support of recovery in designated disaster areas will receive “community development” consideration for up to 36 months under final guidance implementing revised Community Reinvestment Act regulations. The guidance aims to encourage bank financing in distressed and underserved communities, as well as in jurisdictions the federal government has designated as disaster areas.
