Privacy notices that lenders have been providing their customers since 2001 apparently are not of much use to consumers even though most say they care about privacy, according to a top federal regulator. In remarks to a joint meeting by the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association, Comptroller of the Currency John Dugan said that federal regulators are currently testing notices to see what works for them and for consumers.
