Wall Street securitizers will soon be facing tough competition for origination volume from the fewer but larger mortgage companies left standing in a post-consolidation mortgage market. In its 2006 outlook for the mortgage industry, Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy and technology consulting firm, said that the ongoing consolidation in the mortgage market will leave only mega-players that will likely force Wall Street to compete more aggressively for loan volume.
