Standard & Poor’s expects a somewhat less favorable environment for the production of non-agency MBS in 2006 and increased uncertainty about the level of risk in the market. “The frenzied pace of U.S. private label RMBS issuance is expected to cool slightly,” said S&P in a recent research note, but 2006 will likely turn out to be the second best year ever for the market.
