The FDIC has provided guidance to chief executives of banks for meeting new federal requirements for filing notices of draft class action settlements. Under the Dec. 21 guidance, FDIC-supervised institutions must file a notice of any proposed class-action settlement with the agency within 10 days of filing the settlement proposal in court.
