The Federal Reserve Board said it will ease compliance supervision to minimize the disruption and burden wrought by Hurricane Katrina on state member banks. In a supervisory statement issued in the wake of the hurricane, the Fed said it will delay compliance exams on banks that were directly affected by the disaster and on those working to restore financial normalcy in communities where they serve.
