Compliance experts are anticipating increased state regulation of mortgage lenders and brokers as states tighten licensing laws and regulations. Although experts say 2005 is shaping up to be a “normal” year for licensing changes, a total of 36 laws have already been passed this year and each contained at least four changes, according to panelists at the Mortgage Bankers Association’s regulatory compliance conference.
